Intro

Hi, my name is Bezzie and I'm coming out of the geek closet by joining this KAL. ;-)

I cast this on before we sorta picked a direction in what we were going with the KAL...so it's nothing that fits in with Season 1.

I've started a sweater for my son based on a sweater that Xander wore in the episode "Graduation Day" (part 1). Therefore you guessed it, I asked to be put in the "Scoobie" catergory. I've always like Xander anyway...one of my favorite episodes is when he talks Willow down off the mountain at the end of season 6.



It's not the same colors as his, but when I saw him wearing it, I was very intrigued. It's fair-isle, and yet it's not.

With some scrounging on the internet I was able to come up with other people on fanboards describing it as something "a freebasing grandma might cobble together." If you could see the whole sweater, the design is only on small parts (the shoulder, one cuff, etc.) of an otherwise stockinette sweater.

As you can see from my stellar first attempt at fair-isle there, it fits the freebasing granny description nicely. That picture doesn't do justice to all the puckering I have encountered.

My attempt to replicate the design failed pretty bad too. I've got a big X and not two Vs. Ah well, I'll just claim the X was for Xander. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
